Why Adult Acne Can Be Devastating?

By Andy Smith

There are several unique kinds of acne, but maybe the most distressing type is that experienced by adults. This can often be the fault of an unhealthy diet, or perhaps someone not cleaning their face frequently enough, but several times there may be many other reasons that people do not really understand, and as a matter of fact it can be several causes collectively leading to the acne flourishing on the face. No matter what it is caused by, the range of acne treatments available for adult acne must be considered besides the causes.

Diet gets blamed for a lot of ailments that adults endure, and they are at times not without cause. For instance, the large amount of sugar in a person's diet can often set off hormones in the body that make pimples to appear. These blotches can be on the face, or sometimes on the back, and should not be mistaken for cysts, that are something different. In an effort to avoid adult pimples, the best acne treatment is just to eat less sugar and fats in the diet, and attempt eating fruits and vegetables instead. In a few weeks of a change of diet, the acne must have disappeared.

However, sometimes diets can cause acne for a different reason. So many people endure food allergies or intolerances without even understanding it. You might not be eating unhealthily, but your body is still reacting to what you have eaten. People with a gluten intolerance, Celiac (or Coeliac) disease, may suffer outbreaks on their skin that can seem like acne. Unfortunately for those with allergies, the best acne treatment, the only treatment, is to stay away from foods containing the products that are leading to the outbreak, and use a little anti-pimple cream to do away with the remaining acne.

Sometimes people have acne as a result of other reasons, and these can imply that the acne treatments being offered should reflect this. Sometimes the simplest cause is that people just do not wash their hands after touching areas containing germs. This passes the bacteria to the face with everyday touching. The best acne treatment for this is possibly to try and keep the face clean, though that may not be successful.

Other people suffer from hormonal problems which cause acne. Pre-menstrual women will sometimes break out in pimples, but don't require acne treatments, just a change in the hormones later in the month. People may even suffer from stress which releases hormones into the blood stream that could lead to acne. Here, the most excellent solution is to try and relax more, and treat the pimples as they show up.
