Acne Scars: How To Treat Them The Natural Way

By Jenny Bateman

One of the worst things that someone has to deal with during their coming of age is the unsightly acne that can develop on the surface of their skin. The reason we get acne is because the pores in our skin that are supposed to secret oils can become blocked. These oils tend to be produced more in times of adolescence which is why teenagers suffer so many skin problems.

Another problem that can occur is acne scars because of the sufferer trying to get rid of the spots. So is there anything that you can do to treat the scarring without doing anything too drastic? If you do not want to spend a small fortune on treatments then you should have a look at the natural methods below which can often work very well.

Tomatoes are a superb way to reduce scarring especially if it is a new scar that is beginning to heal because tomatoes contain a number of vitamins and antioxidants which are often used to promote healthy skin.

Honey and Olive Oil mixed together will form an ointment that will help to smooth the skin and can reduce the appearance of blemishes.

Freezing the skin can tighten the skin and improve it over time which can mean that pores will be less likely to end up gaping and weeping.

Lemon is often used by people to lighten the scarred skin because of the fact that it contains a natural bleaching agent; many also use it as a soap because it will cleanse the skin and smells fresh.

Of course these are unlikely to be recommended by any dermatologist that is worth his weight in prescriptions as there is no money to be made for the medical industry by using these techniques. However they have worked well for a number of people and it is always better to try out natural methods before resorting to medications.
