The Scientific Issues Of EGF Skin Cream

By Iva Cannon

Skincare products commercially available are believed to have benefits on the skin in ways that are almost too impossible to believe. It is true that there had been a lot of positive feedbacks regarding these products based on testimonials. This is largely because of the formulas being put into these products by the manufacturers. The sad truth is that they could also have side effects on the body.

These formulations are usually taken from the latest genetic engineering processes. Beauty products use plants as their raw ingredients. With transgenic farming, a genetically engineered way of farming plants, pharmaceutical and dermatological laboratories are now able to produce more of the biochemicals they need for the new EGF skin cream. EGF or Epidermal Growth factor are now added on moisturizers and creams because they are believed to make skin look tighter and younger.

But despite the incredible effects of this innovation, scientists warn that this could cause some health issues. It begins in the plant pollination. They have highlighted the effect of these genetically engineered plants on wild plants and agricultural crops.

If the pollinators pollinate the genetically engineered plants, they could transfer the chemicals to wild plants and crops. This will endanger the health of humans and animals who are the final consumers in the food chain. Thus, if this is possible, it could also be possible that the EGF will have a direct negative effect on the ones who will use it.

EGF is a cytokine and it is composed of a group of cells constantly communicating with each other in order to proliferate especially in times of healing wounds. EGF contains growth factors allowing the derma to reconstruct. Judging by its name, its capabilities rely on cell growth mainly on the epidermal part.

Since its primary function is to reconstruct, it is believed to heal wrinkles and make the person look younger and more appealing. Many mistaken this to be an anti aging product but its main function really, is replenishment but it does not totally concentrate on removal of wrinkles. Some products have exaggerated specifications just to be a hit in the market, especially to adult men and women.

The characteristic of the product which is to boost cell growth is a factor that actually disturbs most scientists. This can be a serious threat and can cause cancer. The fact that it proliferates cellules, it can possibly multiply cancer cells as well. Although there is no direct effect, it poses a bigger threat to those who have cancer histories in the family.

This does not imply that it directly causes cancer. The scientists mean that it can multiply cellules of cancer very quickly. So, if a user of the product already has cancer cells developing without being aware of it, the proliferation could happen fast which will lead to a higher stage of cancer in just a matter of time.

And if a user does not have a clue that he or she already has cancer developing within, using the product more will increase the number of cancer cellules. Hence, consult the doctor first before trying something new out. If you have a sensitive skin, try only the products that are milder.
