Usually when you see a dermatologist for melasma treatment, hydroquinone is recommended. But it depends on the individual. For some people, it can cause skin irritations. In developed countries like UK and South Africa, hydroquinone is banned from all skin care products because of the risk of toxicity. Furthermore, if you stop using it, any sun exposure will trigger the melanin production and this time your melasma will be more noticeable.

You can use the following remedies to treat melasma naturally.

Tumeric is one substance that you can find in many skin care products. It enhances the glow of your skin. Make a thick paste by mixing two teaspoons of tumeric and skimmed milk. Spread the paste over the affected areas. Leave it for twenty minutes. When it is completely dry, you can wash the area with warm water. Do this regularly .

Papaya can help to improve the luminosity of your skin. It also removes any impurities from the surface of your skin. It is a simple process. Just take a slice of papaya and rub it on the patches for about fifteen minutes. Make sure the patches are soaked with papaya juice. Leave them for ten minutes before you rinse them with water.

Lemon juice is one of widely used remedy to lighten dark spots. It contains citric acid and vitamin C which have lightening effects. It also exfoliates your skin, allowing new layer of skin to emerge. Add a teaspoon of organic vinegar into a glass of lemon juice. Dab the solution on your melasma. Rinse it with water after 30 minutes. It is best to apply the solution three times a day.

After each session, you should always wear a sunblock. Try to avoid the sun as much as possible.

These ingredients are easily available. They are cheap and natural, making them for everyone to use. For some reasons, if your skin responds adversely to topical creams, then you try these natural ways to treat melasma.
